Re: Invisible data - women and data
Woman and Data?????
Have I got someone for y'all to check out. Here name is Cathy Hughe and she's literally traveling the world teaching others how to consume data (and oh by the way ... wine data.) https://www.linkedin.com/in/cathy-huyghe-332307/
Here is her blog site http://www.enolytics.com/enolytics101/
and here is a small snippet
Then there is Laura Madsen. https://www.linkedin.com/in/lauramadsen/
I first found out about Laura as a result of her books:
Her current work is focused on Data Quality and Data Governance. Her blog is: https://routetwentyfive.com/
Then there is my good friend Claudia Scott https://www.linkedin.com/in/claudia-scott/ who is the lead of the Qlik Center of Excellence at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and a 2019 Qlik Luminary. She is also focused on reaching young ladies in the Atlanta area to encourage data use and STEM in general.
No "manels" in my eyes when it comes to data that's for sure.

What first steps should I take to encourage data literacy in my organization?
Hi all, I'm keen to kick start a data literacy drive in my organization but I'm not sure how to start this - what would anyone recommend based on their own experiences? How hard is it to get off the ground?
Step-by-step Guide
Here's a few quick steps to help you get started on the Data Literacy Project Community Forum:
Step 1: You can browse the site, but you will not be able to post or comment until you have registered. In order to do this, click on ‘Register’ in the top right or left-hand panel
Step 2: Fill in your details and create a password which you will remember
Step 3: You are now logged in. To view and edit your profile, click on the top right and ‘View Profile ‘ or ‘Edit Profile’ to to upload a personal avatar
Step 4: To view specific categories, you can either click on the individual tiles on the homepage or select via the left-hand panel
Step 5: Within each category you will find subcategories where you can start commenting and deep dive into topics - just click on the one you are interested in
Step 6: To create a new discussion within the chosen subcategory, click on the ‘New Discussion’ arrow and then select ‘New Discussion’
Step 7: Add a title to your discussion and apply your comments to start generating some engagement in the second input text field. Click ‘Post Discussion’ once you're ready to post
Note: We recommend selecting ‘In the category and recent discussions’ option just below the text field. This will mean your posts/comments will have a wider reach in the forum
HINTS AND TIPS:
1. Tag users using # and also use the # to tag keywords related to your post
2. Respond to current posts to develop discussions
3. Share and post frequently, as this will generate awareness and increase engagement
