Parents are concerned about their children’s IT skills while schools are closed

We spotted this week that just 24% of UK parents feel comfortable teaching their children IT and Computer Science, while just 8% felt comfortable with coding. In comparison, 62% for maths and 58% in English: https://www.publictechnology.net/articles/news/it-among-subjects-suffering-most-home-schooling-study-finds?

That’s a clear disparity which is concerning, as it suggests many children could miss out on learning core skills while schools are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Why are parents lacking the confidence to help their children learn these skills? It's an issue that needs to be addressed, so what advice would you share with a parent so they see can success when teaching their kids?
