“Computer says no” – recognising when it’s time to challenge the algorithm
Hi all,
I’m sure a lot of you will have seen the news about the UK government’s A-level results fiasco: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-53806038
It’s an interesting discussion for those of us in the data world – as much as relying on insight from data is important, we also need to recognize when to challenge the results that algorithms give us. The handling of student’s A-level results is a prime example of this.
James Fisher, Chief Product Officer at Qlik has penned his thoughts on the matter here – https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/computer-says-recognising-when-its-time-challenge-algorithm-fisher/?trackingId=0pV28hF5TNScLm39WIJWdA%3D%3D – it would be great to hear how you guys are challenging the algorithms you work with. Share your insights below.
