First flattening, now spiking? What a "spike" in COVID-19 cases really means
Hi everyone,
Our Know Your Data series is back!
With many countries around the world experiencing a second wave of COVID-19, the new episode looks at a term that we will all have seen splashed across headlines over the last few days and weeks – the spike!
Throughout the episode, Kevin Hanegan and Data Literacy Project Advisory Board member, Alan Schwarz, discuss how the word ‘spike’ is actually a mathematical term that is often taken out of context, and show how focusing on the data and not the words is crucial to understanding what some of the headlines really mean.
Check it out below and as always, would love to know your thoughts!
